New F-1B cutter with helical cutting edges, for increased smoothness when cutting dimple keys

This cutter significantly reduces vibration and noise on Move and Move Go machines during operation.
Under our commitment to ongoing improvement and the durability of our machines, JMA has developed a new cutter with helical cutting edges for dimple keys - the F1B - compatible with machines in the Capri and Move families.
This new cutter complements the one that already exists for key dimples, the F1 cutter. While studying various ways to reduce vibration on the machines during operation, a significant improvement was observed on Move and Move Go machines when creating helical cutting edges on the cutter.
The smoother feel offered by this cutter when machining keys is noticeable. It can be particularly felt on our Move machines but is also noticeable on the Capri machines. Key cutting professionals can enjoy a smoother, more comfortable experience on a more stable machine with improved cutting sensation. Furthermore, the geometry of the swarf produced also changes with this new cutting edge.
The new cutter has been available since September 2024 and you can get yours from any JMA point of sale.
