JMA takes second place at the Business Fun Run

June 06 2022

The team from JMA that took part in the men’s category and stood in second place on the podium consisted of four employees: Juan Pedro del Pozo (Juanpe), Iker Arkauz, Jon Baleztena and Igor Olalde.

The XIII Business Fun Run took place in Donostia-San Sebastian (Gipuzkoa) on Sunday, 15 May. JMA was able to take part once again this year and its team came in second. The four members of the only team representing the company achieved an excellent time of 0:30:03, only 16 seconds behind first place.

“We were nervous but also excited at the same time”, said the runners. In fact, the race is no longer just a competition for these employees but has become a day of festivities and cooperation. “The team has to stay together at all times, which forces us to adapt our pace to one another”, said Igor Olalde, a member of JMA. Although they think that conditions could have been better due to the heat, recent recovery from various injuries and preparation for new competitions, they were pleased with the result.

The runners were not alone on the day as they received support and encouragement from friends and family. A now retired former work colleague was also cheering them on from the crowd. He was quick to approach the team after the race and congratulated them on the excellent result. Similarly, the runners themselves also wanted to encourage other colleagues to take part in the next edition of this event, which will take place on 13 May 2023.

JMA has now taken part in this race on three occasions. The first time was in 2016 and the second was in 2017, when the team earned a well-deserved second place. The matter of seconds that separated first and second places this year clearly demonstrates the huge potential shown by JMA employees in the field of athletics. Besides the commemorative medal, the runners enjoyed the fitting reward of a lunch or dinner at the Txuleta restaurant in the Old Town of Donostia. Zorionak eta on egin ekipo!
